Old news from our cruise (Part I) - Endlich Bilder von unserer Kreuzfahrt (Erster Teil)

Part I

I can't believe it's almost two month since our cruise and I haven't posted anything!

What an amazing trip it was! I really enjoy cruises. They are so relaxing. You don't have to worry about anything. They have almost anything you could imagine on a cruise ship - food, pools, shore excursions, gambling, food, hot tubs, miniature golf, food, shows, and of course, food! Yes, lots and lots of food... I did enjoy quite a few treats but made some healthier choices too.

My husband and I had been on a few cruises before. This time our friend, Dani, joined us.

We got on board the Carnival Paradise in Tampa on a cloudy Monday morning. Tampa is located on the west coast of Florida, inside the Tampa Bay which connects to the Gulf of Mexico.



Once the ship left the bay area we were headed towards Grand Cayman Islands. But we first had a day and half to relax on board of the Paradise. And we did!

On our first day we explored the ship, enjoyed the hot tub and pool, tasted some amazing food, checked out the night club and had a good laugh at the night time comedy show.

But pictures say more than thousands word, so...

On Wednesday, we got up bright and early to explore the beaches of Grand Cayman Island. And let me tell you, they are gorgeous! The water is so clear, it looks like pool water. The sand feels amazingly soft. We really enjoyed that day!

The only downside to a cruise is that you can't just stay somewhere... you have to get back on board of that ship, or you're left behind. So after a wonderful morning on Grand Cayman we got back on the ship in the early afternoon. We didn't have enough time to try any local food, though, so we might have to go back! I love trying local food!

That night we watched the sunset before going to dinner, it was a bit cloudy, but breathtaking nonetheless!

Actually, I think I look like a deer in the headlights there, but Dani looks great!










Well, that was the first part of our cruise. In my next post I'll write about our trip to the Mayan Ruins of Tulum; those deserve a post by themselves!

Endlich Bilder von unserer Kreuzfahrt

Erster Teil

Es ist schon fast zwei Monate her, dass ich mit meinem Mann und unserer Freundin Daniela auf der Kreuzfahrt waren! Unglaublich! Und ich komme erst jetzt dazu, die Bilder zu posten und euch etwas mehr davon zu erzählen.

Ich liebe Kreuzfahrten! Es ist so entspannend; man muss sich um nichts kümmern; alles ist da...

Am Montag Morgen sind wir von Jacksonville nach Tampa gefahren. Tampa liegt an der Westküste von Florida, ca. 4 1/2 Stunden entfernt von Jacksonville. Die Fahrt verlief reibungslos und wir waren frühzeitig da und konnten fast ohne Probleme aufs Schiff. Zum Glück ist meine Greencard so schnell angekommen, ohne die wäre es noch viel komplizierter geworden, aber es war auch schon so schwierig genug, weil niemand wusste, wie man meine Daten ins System eingeben musste, obwohl wir vorher alles schon online gemacht hatten.

Als wir endlich an Board der Carnival Paradise waren, verlief alles reibungslos. Es war Daniela's erste Kreuzfahrt, also haben wir erstmal nach dem Mittagessen das Schiff erkundet. An Essen mangelt es nun wirklich nicht auf dem Schiff. Es gibt jede Menge Restaurants, Buffets, eine Sushi-Bar, und außerdem 24-Stunden Zimmerservice. Beim Abendessen hat man die Wahl zwischen einem Buffet-Restaurant oder einem 3-Gänge-Menü-Restaurant. Wir haben uns natürlich für das Exklusivere entschieden.

Das Schiff hat noch sehr viel mehr zu bieten: 2 Pools, 3 Whirlpools, Minigolf, Tischtennis, weitere Spiele, Shows, Bars, ein Casino und vieles mehr. Und auf unserem Trip hatten wir zwei Stops, den ersten in Grand Cayman, den zweiten in Mexiko, aber dazu später mehr.

Am ersten Abend haben wir nach einem leckeren Abendessen noch ein Drink in einer Bar genossen. Am zweiten Tag, nach einem leckeren Frühstück, haben wir uns gemütliche Liegen ausgesucht und die Sonne genossen.

Abends haben wir uns für das "Formal Dinner" schick gemacht.

Am nächsten Tag ging es schon früh los, da wir schon um 7:30 Uhr in Grand Cayman Island angekommen waren und spätestens um 13:30 Uhr wieder zurück an Board sein mussten.

Wir wollten auf jeden Fall den legendären 7-mile-Strand sehen und im glasklaren Wasser des Karibischen Meeres schwimmen.

Es war einfach traumhaft. Da wäre ich gerne noch länger geblieben...

Zurück auf dem Schiff gab es abends wieder ein super leckeres Essen.

Jeden Abend hat uns ein anderes Handtuchtier auf dem Bett begrüßt!
